Jim Franklin

Jim Franklin was sometimes referred to as the "Michelangelo of armadillo art". Jim was an ever-present force in the Austin music scene during the 60s and early 70s, helping start the original Vulcan Gas Company, and then creating poster art for the Armadillo World Headquarters, a new venue which he also co-founded and managed. The Armadillo World Headquarters helped usher a new movement into Austin and brought the likes of hippies and cowboys together, bringing about some of the most influential music in American history.

Jim Franklin's works with the armadillo is legendary. Through a few mutual connections back in Austin, we were able to acquire the license on a few of our favorite Jim Franklin works, and feature them in a very limited run of our tees and sweatshirts.
